A model of droplet evaporation: New mathematical developments

A previously developed model for mono-component droplet evaporation is revisited using new mathematical tools its analysis. The analysis based on steady-state mass, momentum, and energy balance equations the vapor air mixture surrounding a droplet. obtained solution to these was assumption that parameter ε (proportional squared ratio of diffusion coefficient radius) equal zero. presented in paper method integral manifolds, it allowed us present rate as sum predicted by [Formula: see text] correction proportional ε. shown be particularly important case small water methanol droplets (diameters less than 5 μm) evaporating at low pressure (0.1 atm.). In this case, could reach 35% original rate. relatively large (with radii more 10 atmospheric higher pressures, corrections are (less text]).
